RV Water Heater Replacement while on the Road

Spread the love

First off check your water heater before you leave on your trip. I took extra care of my flare connectors for propane.

Always check for leaks. Over the 4th of July I had my Water Heater leak in my 5th Wheel it was over 12 years old but I didn’t want it to interrupt my RV holiday.

The RV repair facilities couldn’t get to it for a couple of months so I changed it myself. Here are my steps and problems while I changed out my RV water heater with the same model as the original.UPDATE

The Flare for the propane fitting should not have Teflon or pipe dope on the threads. If it is working correctly copper on a brass fitting naturally seals
